Some of us may think we are far, far from God, estranged across a barren desert of shame or boredom or disillusionment or rage. Some of us may even think we make the distance, denouncing a God we insist does not exist.
But God is always as close as our breath; distance is a delusion. God’s love made visible in Jesus is vast and expansive, filling the whole cosmos. There is no place we can be where we are not brushing against the mercy.
Thanks for this needed reminder, Winn. It has been a desert season for me for a good while now, but I’m learning to realize His nearness again.
A comforting affirmation.
We have all at one time or another wondered where God was in our lives. We have preconceived notions about where we can find evidence of God’s presence. In those times we seek, but sometimes fail to experience God because of preconceived notions. That’s when in prayer, I trust and believe God is there and ask Him to renew my eyes to see, my ears to hear Him near! Then I thank Him! Thank you for your beautiful devotional affirmation, Winn!
Winn, thank you for this reminder! I really needed to read this today. I feel so dry inside right now, but in Jesus we have the fountain of everlasting water.
Winn,
I am so thankful for the insight our Lord has given you into life, living, and Himself. I so enjoy reading the outcome of His speaking to your heart. Love to you, Dad

Thank you for putting words to feelings that are hard to express and sometimes manage. You have a way with words that help me draw near to the one who loves us, always. Bless you!
